We are delighted to announce the Cross ERN Workshop (MetabERN – ERN TransplantChild – ERN RARE-LIVER) which will be held in Coimbra, Portugal on 8 to 9 June 2023.
The workshop is aimed at paediatric, adult physicians, patient associations and patient advocacy organizations from three European Reference Networks and is supported by the EJP RD Support scheme for Networking initiatives – to share knowledge on rare diseases and rare cancers.
This Cross ERN Workshop aims to share different types of knowledge and expertise and expand the range of perspectives upon liver transplantation, which is increasingly considered an effective treatment option for various Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM). Highlights of the discussion will involve: optimal timing for liver transplantation, challenging indications, maximising organ donation for IEM, indications for combined liver-kidney transplant, and risk-benefit decisions.
